Mochiko

I'm excited to finally get this recipe up on here. This is the first of two parts to make a third part, the dessert called Daifuku. Daifuku is made up of a sweet bean paste middle, and then a glutenous rice flour outside. It is very good and a popular asian dessert. so here we go!

1 1/2 c. mochiko (glutenous rice flour)
1 1/2 c. water
sugar (depending on how much sugar you want, 1 c. - 1/4 c. )

Blend the mochiko, water and sugar in a microwavable bowl, and then microwave it for 4-8 minutes on high. Check it every few minutes to make sure it's coming along. It should become like jelly. Let it cool, then roll it out in corn starch, or potato starch so it can be handled. This can be eaten alone (depending on how much sugar is put in it) or you can roll it out, put a ball of bean paste in it, and wrap it up. The bean paste recipe is coming up. I like to not put any sugar or a little sugar in it when i use the bean paste since i sweeten the beans and it sweetens he whole dessert and trys to lower the calorie count here. haha!

ps if you want to add food colouring, go ahead, just add in drops before you microwave, stir, and check the colour. Put in as much or as little as you want! White is also okay (white you can get by not putting any coulouring in) also, black sesame powder can get a black colour, if that is what you desire.
